I grew up in a small city in Orange County and loved playing sports. My Gram and I would take step aerobics together and I adored her gym community. Then in high school, I discovered dance through Show Choir and Cheerleading. I was drawn to dance and quickly discovered a hidden talent for choreography. My senior year, I started my first paid teaching job and taught aerobics to our Football Team to help with their agility. I auditioned to be an All-Star Cheerleader and traveled to Paris, France. Post graduation, I got hired on as an United Spirit Association Cheer Instructor for summer camps, judging competitions, and choreography.
I continued cheerleading for my college as well as picked up jobs teaching aerobics, body sculpt and dance. I played soccer a semester abroad in Bronxville, New York and traveled each summer to multiple colleges teaching for USA Cheer. I began teaching classes for 24 hour Fitness and absorbed every format they offered which included my introduction to yoga through YogaFit. I started teaching yoga in 2000. I worked with a Physical Therapist and led patients in therapeutic exercise. I thought that I would continue my education to become a Doctor in PT but found that billing insurance and writing S.O.A.P. notes was not where I wanted to spend my energy.
I became a certified YogaWorks Teacher Trainer, specialty teacher for Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga, Childbirth Educator, Doula, and to my own surprise started my own company. I was inspired to start Yoga Mama Method in 2012 when both of my sisters were simultaneously pregnant (and my niece and nephew born only 8 days apart).
I have always loved traveling and have had many wonderful opportunities leading yoga trainings and retreats in Los Angeles,
Japan, China, Mexico, Minnesota, San Francisco, Costa Rica,
Orange County, and the Bahamas.
I love supporting moms, movement instructors, and birth workers for the many transitions of conception, pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. My son is one of my greatest teachers and I personally believe it takes a village to support a mother. I am your "mama cheerleader" and I encourage community for the birth of your family.
At 9 years old, Founder of the Yoga Mama Method, Chrissy watched with amazement as her little brother was born. Since 1988, Chrissy has been fascinated with the miracle of birth.
After her first yoga certification in 2000, she found her dharma in supporting mamas throughout their pregnancy and began teaching Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga in 2008.
Chrissy was inspired to start Yoga Mama Method in 2012 when both of her sisters were pregnant at the same time. Her niece and nephew were born eight days apart #TwinCousins and both births ended in emergency cesarean surgery.
In October 2016, Chrissy joined motherhood with her own son, and she continues to empower families with her joy of teaching yoga and balanced health.
